Some of my favourite people shots from Vietnam. Many of these people have had very tough lives yet most them are so positive about their lives.

Blake and Myles are my sons, Blake is 4 and Myles, in two weeks will be two. Both are very used to Dad holding a camera and both can be hard to get natural shots of. This photo of Blake is one of my favourites, I have hundreds of him looking at me and smiling but I like this one because it is real. He is watching the sunrise at Lennox Head and it was a beautiful scene and the light was lovely. I hope he grows up with my appreciation for light.

Little Sophie is 16 months old. She is the daughter of Linda and Matt who's wedding I shot 4 years ago. We did the shoot at their home and we had lots of fun. We just let her be her self and I chased her around the room with the camera. I like the window light the room had. Window light , without direct sun, is a great source of light for photographers.

I expect I'll be shooting quite a few kids this year.

I have been shooting plenty of portraits lately. I really enjoy portrait sessions, especially with kids. Getting the kids to be natural can be a challenge but when you succeed the shots are powerful. A lot of my brides are pregnant at the moment and the babies are popping out fairly regulary. I will be shooting babies all year, which is great, I have plenty of experience at it.

Its been a month since I last posted and the main reason is that I have either been too busy or just plain not here.

Femia and I went to Vietnam for 10 days at the start of the month. It was a wonderful trip, I have always loved travelling in Asia and due to many reasons, marriage, mortgages, kids and this business, I hadn't been back for 14 years.

While it was only 10 days, they were great days. We left the kids with their grandmothers and just the two of us enjoyed our 20th year together anniversary. When we travel we go pretty hard, not the sort to sit on a beach for days on end. We walked, rode bikes, motorbiked, cars, bussed, boated and flew around, often for 10-12 hours per day.

We don't go to too many places, we just make sure we see all we can in the places we go. We will go back, its the best value travel we have ever done. Great things to see, awesome food, friendly people. These are a fe of the panographs I took while there. I'll post some more photos soon.
